dc.description.abstractOccupational health is growing issues on educating workers to become more involved in protecting their own health and promotion through plant surveillance, reporting worker education programs, the use of consultants, and promoting of labor production. Achieving such aims, health education program is one of most important fields in the occupational health. In this sense, the questionnaire survey for 312 workers was carried out in the chemical plants in Kyong-In district in order to find out influences on health education program with consideration of characteristics on implementing worker's health practice, general characteristics and working plant condition. Some important results are shown as follows: 1. The more active occupational health activities showed in the group of male workers , 30-39 aged group, married, high school graduate, non-smokers and non-drinkers. 2. Plant workers in the factory which have more than 50 employees and printing workers showed more active occupational health practice than painting workers. Also, plant workers who have been worked more than 10 year showed more active occupational health practice. 3. Workers who had health education more than one hour monthly carry out more active occupational health practice than those who had health education less than one hour monthly. Workers who had the more health education about mental health and family health, audio-visual aidsexperienced, attended lunch hour lecture had shown more active occupational health activities. 4. Dominant variables affecting to occupational health activities are sex, size of the factories and length of health education. More than one hour education group shown 20.9times more occupational health activities compare with group less than one hour education. In conclusion, it seemed very important that health education should be regularly offered to workers to improve occupational health activities, especially in the chemicalhandling workers of the factories.-
