Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate the normal sonographic anatomy of the anterior neck region and the sonographic findings of various kinds of extrathyroid lesions.
METHODS:
Cases of extrathyroid lesions were collected and reviewed retrospectively from our archives. All of the sonographic examinations were performed with high-frequency (5- to 15-MHz) linear array transducers.
RESULTS:
The normal sonographic anatomy of the anterior neck region and various pathologic conditions of patients with extrathyroid lesions are discussed.
CONCLUSIONS:
Sonography is a useful imaging method for evaluating anterior neck anatomy and various pathologic conditions in patients with extrathyroid lesions.
