3세 및 5세 아동의 동사 이름대기 특성과 어휘다양도와의 관계

이름대기는 한 물체와 구체적인 단어를 상황에 적절하게 연결시키는 능력으로 구어산출에 있어서 기본이 된다. 언어장애 아동들은 흔히 이름대기에 문제를 보이기 때문에 정상과 언어장애를 이해하려는 노력의 일환으로 이름대기는 지속적으로 연구되어 왔다. 한국어에서 명사와 마찬가지로 동사는 아동의 언어발달을 예측할 수 있는 중요한 요소이다. 하지만, 국내의 연구는 대부분 명사 이름대기에 대한 것이며, 검사어휘의 이해여부를 고려한 연구가 부족한 실정이다.따라서, 본 연구는 생활연령이 만 3세와 만 5세인 정상아동을 대상으로, 동사 이름대기의 특성을 알아봄으로써, 동사 이름대기의 검사연구에 필요한 실증적인 자료를 얻고자 한다. 또한, 동사 이름대기와 어휘다양도 간의 관계를 살펴, 동사 이름대기의 타당성을 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 연령과 성별에 따른 동사 이름대기의 오반응 빈도를 산출하였고, 그 오류유형을 분석하였다. 오반응은 검사어휘의 이해가 가능하였지만, 이름대기에서 오반응한 문항을 대상으로 하였다. 또한, 자발화에서의 어휘다양도를 분석해 동사 이름대기와의 상관정도를 확인하였다.동사 이름대기의 오반응 빈도, 오류유형에 대한 연령 및 성별에 대한 차이를 알아보기 위해 이원분산 분석을 사용하였으며, 동사 이름대기와 어휘다양도(TNW, NDW, Verb TNW, Verb NDW)간의 상관관계를 알아보기 위해 Pearson 상관분석을 실시하였다.본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 동사 이름대기 검사에서 연령에 따라 오반응한 빈도가 감소하여, 동사 이름대기 능력이 연령에 따라 증진되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 총 50문항에서 3세 아동은 평균 13.6개(27.3%), 5세 아동은 9.8개(19.5%)의 오반응을 보였다. 또한, 3세와 5세 두 집단에서 성차가 나타나지 않았다.둘째, 동사 이름대기에서 이해가 가능한 오류를 NR, DK, 음운적 오류, 구문적 오류, 시각적 오류, 그리고 의미적 오류유형으로 분석하였다. 3세에서 NR, 구문적 오류와 시각적 오류가 유의하게 많이 나타났으며, 3세 및 5세 모두에서 성별에 따른 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 또한, 동사 이름대기에서 오류유형의 전체적인 출현순서를 살펴본 결과, 시각적 오류, 구문적 오류, 의미적 오류, DK, NR, 음운적 오류 순으로 나타났다.셋째, 동사 이름대기의 오반응 빈도와 어휘다양도(TNW, NDW, Verb TNW, Verb NDW)간에 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 특히 상관관계가 가장 높게 나타난 것은 Verb NDW였으며, 그 다음 TNW, NDW, Verb TNW 순으로 나타나서, 동사 이름대기로 자발화 상의 의미발달 정도를 예측할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.이상의 결과를 토대로 볼 때, 우리나라 정상아동의 경우, 동사 이름대기의 능력이 연령에 따라 발달함을 알 수 있었고, 성별 간에 이름대기 능력이 유의한 차이가 없음을 시사하였다. 동사 이름대기에서 이해가 가능한 오류는 시각적 오류, 구문적 오류, 의미적 오류가 주로 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 동사 이름대기와 어휘다양도간에 상관관계가 유의하게 나타나, 동사 이름대기로 자발화의 표현 언어능력을 예측할 수 있음을 입증하였다.

[영문]Naming, as one of the expressive language functions, indicates the ability to identify an object with an appropriate word or term. Since children with language impairment commonly name objects erroneously, studies on children''s naming skills have been steadily conducted to understand the mechanism associated with language impairment. In Korean language, like nouns, verbs can be used as a parameter for measuring children''s language development. Although there have been enough studies on noun naming in Korea, the studies on verb naming with consideration of whether or not children understand the meaning of the verbs are lacking.The purpose of this study is to determine characteristics involved in verb naming errors in 60 normal children aged in 3- and 5- year olds based on age and sex and the correlations between naming error frequency and lexical diversity. The concept of the verb naming errors can be that children fail to name a correct verb although they understand the meaning of the verb.The results were as follows.1. The older the child, the lower error frequency in verb naming: 27.3% in 3-year olds and 19.5% in 5-year olds. Accuracy of verb naming in 3- and 5- year olds was not influenced by sex.2. The types of verb naming errors were different according to age and were not influenced by sex. By error type, visual error, syntactic error, and semantic error in 3- and 5- year olds were dominant.3. The correlations between error frequency of verb naming and lexical diversity(Total Number of Words, Number of Differential Words, Total Number of Words of Verb, Number of Differential Words of Verb) were significant. Therefore, the more lexical diversity, the lower error frequency.In conclusion, accuracy of verb naming in 3- and 5- year olds was influenced by age. Error analysis was meaningful to understand qualitative aspects about naming error. Also, the correlation analysis showed that naming accuracy is highly correlated with lexical diversity. Through this analysis, we can conclude that verb naming ability is a significant predictor of language disability in 3- and 5- year olds.
